The ZON MARK 4, fully connected, fails to operate at all. The valve of the gas tank is not open. Open the valve.
The interval regulator is not opened. Open it by turning into the (+) mark direction; if the detonations are too frequent, turn it a little to the (-) mark.
The gas tank is empty or has too little pressure. Connect a new gas tank.
The gas valve (no. 91406) cannot be opened. This may happen if the device has not been operated for some time. Use two fingers to grasp the hinged clip (no. 91266) and pull it up vertically once or twice. Be sure to keep the hinged clip from slipping over the stop lip of the spring holder (no. 91236) as this will prevent you from opening the gas valve.
The ZON MARK 4 leaks. The coupling nut gas regulator is not tight enough. Tighten coupling nut with suitable spanner.
The hose from the regulator-unit to the ZON MARK 4 has been damaged. Replace the hose.
A fast method to trace a leak in the gas regulator is to check it with a leakage spray.
Diaphragm leaks along the plate rim. Repair should be carried out by dealer.
The ZON MARK 4 operates, but there is no explosion or sound. Ignition gives a weak spark or no spark at all. Check the electrode (no. 91536) It is possible that the porcelain or the mass point is broken; if so replace.
Replace Piezo-element (no. 91526)
Piezo-element and/or electrode are wet. Dry both well.
The wind is too strong (> 7 m/s) – gas/air mixture is disturbed. Place the ZON MARK 4 downwind or, if possible, place it out of the wind, or behind a screen.
Poor gas mixture. Replace gas tank.
Preferably use propane gas.
The ZON MARK 4 operates, but the diaphragm gland (no. 91226) remains in the top position. The gas valve-holder (no. 91416) is blocked or partially blocked. Clean opening with small piece of wire no more than 0.6 mm thick.
Gas valve (no. 91406) stays open – diaphragm gland (no. 91266) remains above. Spring diaphragm gland (no. 91286A) may be broken. If so, replace.
The gas valve (no. 91406) can't be opened or sufficiently opened. Lifting level must be 1 – 2 mm. The measures which have to be taken for this, must be carried out by the dealer.
The ZON MARK 4 works, but gives dull explosions. Wind is too strong; gas/air mixture is disturbed. Place the ZON MARK 4 downwind or, if possible, place it out of the wind, or behind a screen.
Telescopic megaphone is not pulled out or is only partially pulled out. Pull out to full extension.

ZON MARK IV ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
- When not in use, store in a dry place.
- Check the following at least once per year;
1. Check the gas hose for defects. If defects are found (porous/cracks), replace it with a new one. When in doubt, use a new hose.

2. Check the gas regulator, fitted with a hose fracture protector, for damage or leaking. If any problems are detected, repair or replace immediately.

3. Check the electrode (No. 91536) for damage. If any defects are detected replace with new electrode.

4. Check electrode on back of barrel for corrosion or residue build-up. Remove and clean with emery cloth. Spray a protective coating over ground wire and back of electrode to prevent corrosion. See above for description.

5. If other defects are detected consult your local dealer.
